LinkedIn is updating its messaging experience with a brand-new ‘Focused Inbox,’ which aims to minimize spam and surface area more relevant messages.
The next time you login to LinkedIn and open your inbox you’ll see a notification inviting you to “Attempt Focused Inbox.”
Clicking the button revealed above will automatically filter your messages into 2 tabs.
Focused Inbox uses AI to determine essential messages, which it filters into the ‘Focused’ tab while the remainder are sent to the ‘Other’ tab.
Considering there’s an AI aspect included it may take some time for LinkedIn to discover your inbox choices.
You’ll have the option to move messages in between tabs, or revert back to the standard messaging experience if you don’t take pleasure in the Focused Inbox.
LinkedIn is making this change in uptick in direct messaging, which the business states is up 20% compared to in 2015.
In an e-mail, a LinkedIn representative states:
“This feature is the most recent in a series of enhancements we’ve made to help members have more efficient discussions and connect to chances through LinkedIn messaging. With discussions up almost 20 percent given that last year, we’re seeing more professionals on LinkedIn are relying on messaging to link and engage with each other.”
LinkedIn’s Focused Inbox is now offered around the world to all users.
